Easy DIY Christmas Centerpiece Ideas
Whether you’re setting a traditional table or want something more creative, these easy DIY Christmas centerpiece ideas will give you some inspiration for your holiday tablescape.
No matter how many people I’m having for Christmas dinner, I love to create a memorable table.
Since I only have one set of Christmas dishes, the main way I do that is by creating a special centerpiece.
But with everything going on around the holidays, I don’t usually have a lot of time to put it together.
So over the years I’ve come up with a lot of simple ways to create a festive centerpiece that looks pretty and doesn’t take more than a few minutes to put together.
And I’ll warn you now…almost all of them involve candles. They add atmosphere to any tablescape and add that warm glow that makes your table look beautiful.

Like I said…candles…
One of the easiest ways to create a beautiful DIY Christmas centerpiece is to light a lot of candles in different sizes and holiday colors.
Put them randomly down the table. Some in tall candle holders. Some shorter. Some taper candles. And some pillars.
Then add a few evergreen branches and some red berries between the candles for some extra texture and a wintry feeling.
Monochromatic Christmas Centerpiece
This centerpiece is made from all white candles, white roses and an evergreen garland.
It’s a really simple but beautiful way to decorate your Christmas table.
To keep the roses looking fresh, try these floral watering tubes*.
Poinsettia Centerpieces
Poinsettias are the quintessential Christmas flower.
So making a centerpiece with them is a great way to add that holiday feeling to your table.
Mixing red and white candles with faux red poinsettias is a simple but effective combination.
I created a table-length poinsettia centerpiece with this poinsettia garland*, some red candles and some ornaments.
Putting the whole thing on top of a red table runner makes the color really stand out.
Red and White Hydrangea Centerpiece
Hydrangeas are another flower that I love to use for centerpieces because of their fullness.
This Christmas centerpiece uses red and white hydrangeas with red candles to create a holiday color scheme.
Finding real red hydrangeas is almost impossible, but you can buy realistic faux ones* that work well for this project.
Fresh Fruit Centerpiece
For something a little different, try using fresh fruit in your centerpiece.
This one is made from pineapples that have been spray painted gold.
Add in some evergreens, eucalyptus leaves, pussy willows and red berries to create a lush look.
Pomegranates or red and green apples would also make good additions.
Snowy Centerpiece
For this winter wonderland tablescape, I wanted to create a snowy look for my table.
So I decided to use white feather boas to create the look of snow all the way down the middle of the table.
The blue hydrangeas and white roses, white candles, and silver and glass candle holders add to the wintry feeling.
Evergreen Centerpiece
Evergreen branches (whether real or fake) automatically create a holiday look for your table.
For a rustic, woodland feel, combine them with other natural elements like pinecones, these faux wood candles and these simple DIY candle holders made with sand.
For a glam look, add a pretty floral arrangement and crystal candle holders.
Ribbons & Ornaments Centerpiece
To make a really fast and easy centerpiece, put out some ribbon (the wired kind works best), some Christmas ornaments and a few candles down the center of your table.
This only takes a few minutes to put together but it still looks pretty.
And if you use the same colors as your Christmas tree decor, it will tie right in with the rest of your holiday decorations.
Mini Christmas Tree Centerpiece
Another fast and easy DIY Christmas centerpiece idea is to create a mini forest with bottle brush trees and other small Christmas tree decorations .
Combine them with some candles to add warmth to the scene.
Putting down a runner first makes sure they look like they all belong together.
Candy Cane Centerpiece
This DIY candy cane centerpiece is an easy project that will only take a few minutes to create.
It’s made from a tin can and real candy canes. And can be used for either flowers or a tall candle.

Great ideas! I especially love the gold painted pineapples…. I never would have dreamed it, and I spray paint everything! And I also love the icy/frosty white and soft blue look.
Thanks, Nikki! I’m a spray painting fiend myself…nothing is off limits 🙂
Hopefully he will be home from active duty next Christmas and I want to be married in December. The blue hydrangeas and white Roses would look beautiful on the tables.
They would look beautiful, Jody! And they’re easy to put together 🙂
Thank you. I love blue and they are just so beautiful. I could see using the arrangement for a lot of times.
