Kate Spade Inspired Table Setting

When it comes to setting a table that’s both elegant and fun, a Kate Spade inspired table setting is hard to beat.

I put together this black and white tablescape for a Kate Spade Inspired New Year’s Eve party, and it turned out so beautifully that I just had to share it with you.

The black and white striped tablecloth set the stage, while gold and white plates added a touch of sophistication.

Hot pink napkins and gold cutlery brought in that signature Kate Spade flair.

With the bright pops of color, I decided to go with a simple yet stunning centerpiece: white candles and bright pink roses in gold-stemmed wine glasses.

The hot pink accents really pop against the black, white, and gold, creating a glamorous setting that your guests will love.

Whether you’re hosting a Valentine’s Day party, a bridal shower, a birthday party, or even a wedding, this Kate Spade tablescape is the perfect addition to any elegant event.

Black and White Stripes

Black and white is the basis of a lot of Kate Spade’s styles.

And it’s what I used as the basis for my table setting as well.

This black and white striped table cloth has a little gold stripe in it, too. And was actually made by Kate Spade.

But you can replicate the effect by using black and white striped wrapping paper over a black table cloth.

Since I only have one real Kate Spade table cloth, this is what I did for the other tables in my room.

Gold, Black and White Place Settings

For the place settings I started with a gold charger and then added white and black plates.

Gold-rimmed glass salad plates and gold cutlery add some more sparkle.

Add Black Napkins

Using black napkins with these DIY pink napkin rings gives the table a “black tie” look.

Which really emphasizes the black and white theme, and keeps the gold and pink as accent colors.

Or Use Pink Napkins

For more color, pink napkins also work.

The pink really stands out against the black and white background.

This way, the hot pink color is definitely the focal point of the table.

The simple Kate Spade centerpiece

With the place settings already adding a lot of glam to the table, I decided to keep the centerpiece very simple.

I like to use glasses as vases any time I want to repeat the same floral arrangement down the table.

In this case, I cut the stems off of hot pink roses and floated them in gold-stemmed wine glasses to go with the Kate Spade color theme.

I alternated the roses with mercury glass candle holders and white candles running down the length of the table.

Then sprinkled pink diamond-shaped “crystals” on the table around them to bring the pink color down onto the tablecloth.

And added a few black and gold Mardi Gras beads on the table for some extra (and inexpensive) filler.

The Finished Table

Since I’m a color person, I decided to go with the pink napkins.

And used my favorite champagne flutes…perfect for New Year’s Eve!

However, the black napkins also looked good.

Using wine glasses as vases with only 1 rose in each meant I didn’t have to spend a lot of money on flowers.

So I could add bouquets in other places around the room to extend the color theme off the table.

Beautiful! Love the height on the side board instead of on the table. Like the pink napkins. Very nice.

    1. Thanks, Aunt Elaine! I have a thing against centerpieces on the table that are too tall…I don’t like having to look over or around them to see the person on the other side of the table…so the tall things usually end up going somewhere else 🙂
