Hot chocolate is one of the quintessential cold-weather drinks.

So it’s the perfect thing to serve for Thanksgiving, Christmas or any fall or winter party.

To serve it for a crowd, I like to create a hot chocolate bar that lets everyone help themselves.

And this hot cocoa charcuterie board is a great way to do that. (It’s not a true charcuterie board since it doesn’t have meat and cheese on it, but the layout is similar).

It’s also super simple to put together and looks so pretty on your table.

Prep work

Crush 4 candy canes into small bits.

To do this, I like to put them in a ziploc bag and roll over them with a rolling pin.

Put out the hot chocolate

hot chocolate mix in a bowl on a cutting board

Start by placing your soup bowl in the top right corner of your cutting board.

Empty an entire box of hot chocolate mix into the bowl, and place your wooden spoon into the hot chocolate mix.

Add a handful of mini marshmallows on top.

Fill in around the bowl

Serve

Serve 2 Tablespoons of the hot cocoa mix in each mug of warm milk.

Then let everyone put together their own hot chocolate concoctions.

To serve for a crowd, put the milk in a crock pot on the Warm setting. That way people can serve their own when they want it.

You could also add chocolate dipped stirring spoons for even more festive flair.

For an adult hot chocolate bar, put out a bottle of Creme de Menthe, Bailey’s and/or Kahlua.
